What does a massage therapist do for my horse or dog?
Massage is a hands-on therapy. Massage helps circulate the blood to the sore areas helping to release endorphins and creating a way for the body to release metabolic waste from the tissues. Breaking up blockages and allowing energy to flow properly through the muscle tissues.
What are some benefits of massage or Reiki?
Relaxation, improved physical and emotional wellbeing, pain relief, improved mobility and increased circulation (especially good for older animals), build bond/trust to name just a few!
What will happen with my appointment if my dog or horse does not want to be touched?
Every animal is different. If I feel it is not in the best interest of the animal to do the massage, I’ll perform a Reiki session instead or a mix of massage and Reiki. I allow the animal to tell me what is comfortable for them.
*Sometimes, it takes 2-3 visits before they start to realize why I am there and they relax into the session. Building trust is key.
How long does it take to give a horse or dog a massage?
For horses: 60 minutes
For dogs: 45-60 minutes
For Reiki: 15-45 minutes (varies by animal)
Why is my first session longer than one hour?
For first-time sessions, I take pictures & video, allow your pet a few minutes to get to know me before I start touching them, palpate (touch) and record any findings in the tissues or reactive spots, review animal intake forms, and answer any questions you may have before I begin.
How does distance Reiki work?
Reiki can be sent across time, space, and distance; to a person, place, or event; in the past, present, or future. It has no limitations. I'll ask you to send me a recent photo of your pet. Using the Reiki symbols, I will channel energy to your pet at their location.
What is Reiki End of Life Session?
This is a loving, supportive way to help you and your beloved pet during this difficult transition. I will come to your home or vet appointment and offer Reiki. Nothing can take the pain away from the loss of an animal companion or horse but we can at least try to ease the pain and bring more inner peace.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction, relaxation, and encourages healing. It can be administered in-person or remotely and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through all of us and is what causes us to be alive.
Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a Japanese word consisting of two characters; Rei and Ki.
Rei is Japanese for spiritual or sacred. Ki is Japanese for energy. Reiki translates as Spiritual Energy.
Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind, and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace and wellbeing. It is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing technique for all animals and humans.
While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not.
While Reiki is not a religion, it is still important to live and act in a way that promotes harmony with others. The Reiki system of natural healing, recommends that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are universal across all cultures.
